QuiltCut 2 Cutting System Our foundation tool is the Alto's QuiltCut2. This system is designed and manufactured by Altos, a small family-owned Washington state company. It is designed to assist the quilter utilizing the rotary cutting system, but overcoming the problems associated with traditional mats and rulers. While the mat and rotary cutting system revolutionized fabric cutting, the QuiltCut2 has taken rotary cutting to an entirely new level. The mat is located on a small portable work table and utilizes a two rail system. One rail has slider clamps which secure the fabric and preventing the fabric from sliding off the table while working. The clear cutting guide clamps in place, thereby eliminating the sliding ruler problem which distorts your intended cuts and results in frustration once you get to the sewing machine. The speed gauge is your measuring tool which stays parallel to the cutting cut, even when cutting angles. Yes, the cutting guide pivots, both left and right, allowing you to cut various angles. You can cut strips, squares, triangles, half square triangles, diamonds, and even Hexagons (without a template) with a speed and accuracy you never dreamed before.
